Philippines Peptides editorial desk Updated 1 October 2026 6 min read

Short answer

Short answers to the questions asked most about peptides in the Philippines, current to 23 September 2026: whether they are legal, how FDA Philippines registration works, what GLP-1 medicines cost and how they are prescribed, and storage and side effects. Research peptides are not registered medicines here; branded GLP-1 pens are, and they need a prescription.

Video guide: Peptides in the Philippines: A Beginner Guide (2:08)

New to peptides in the Philippines? Here is the beginner guide, in plain terms. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that bind to receptors in the body. The guide sorts them into 5 working categories. Republic Act 9711 says a drug must be registered with FDA Philippines before it is imported, sold or distributed. The FDA portal lists semaglutide as Ozempic and Wegovy, and tirzepatide as Mounjaro, all prescription drugs. Prescribing belongs with a licensed Philippine physician. A portal search on 23 September found no registered product for retatrutide, BPC-157, TB-500, ipamorelin or tesamorelin. Those are sold as research material. A research peptide comes as a powder in a sealed vial, not approved for human use. Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative. To judge a supplier, check 4 things: local stock, published batch reports, clear refund terms, and prices on the page, not DM for price. Our partner and supplier, Primara Labs, stocks in Metro Manila: same day if ordered by 12 noon on a weekday, and J&T to the provinces. Batch reports are published at primaralabs.com/coa as they are issued. Retatrutide batch RETA-4728-A was tested by Janoshik for bacterial endotoxin. There is a 60-day money-back guarantee: if an accredited independent laboratory reports the vial is not the compound on the label, Primara refunds what you paid. Every product page shows its price: a 15 mg semaglutide vial is ₱1,990. Every vial order includes bacteriostatic water, insulin syringes and alcohol pads. Read the full beginner guide on Philippines Peptides, then browse Primara Labs and order on WhatsApp.

## Legality & Registration

### Are peptides legal in the Philippines?

Philippine law does not list peptides by name. Under RA 9711, anything intended to affect the structure or a function of the body is a drug, and a drug must be registered with FDA Philippines before it is imported, sold or distributed. None of the research peptides searched on the FDA verification portal on 23 September 2026 is registered. The sourced detail is in the [legality guide](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/peptide-legality-philippines-2026). This is general information, not legal advice.

### Can I bring medicines or peptides into the Philippines?

Joint Circular No. 1 (2015) lets travellers bring prescription drugs for personal use up to the quantity on a prescription carrying the doctor’s licence number; quantities above the limits are seized. No official source says whether that allowance covers unregistered products or products labelled research use only. See [bringing medicines into the Philippines](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/legal/bringing-medicines-into-the-philippines).

### Do I need a prescription for Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro?

Yes. They are registered prescription medicines, dispensed by a licensed pharmacist against a prescription, and prescribing belongs with a licensed Philippine physician. The rules are on the [prescription rules page](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/legal/prescriptions).

### Has FDA Philippines warned about any of these products?

Yes. FDA Philippines has issued advisories against unregistered GLP-1 products, including tirzepatide vials sold with bacteriostatic water in September 2026. Every advisory is on the [advisories timeline](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/legal/advisories).

## Branded GLP-1 Medicines

### How much is Ozempic in the Philippines?

As of 23 September 2026, Ozempic 1 mg lists at PHP 9,280 at Rose Pharmacy, Southstar Drug and Watsons. The lowest verified price is PHP 7,599 for the 0.5 mg pen at MedsGo. Every pen strength and pharmacy is on the [Ozempic price page](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/semaglutide).

### How much is Mounjaro in the Philippines?

As of 23 September 2026, Mounjaro 15 mg lists at PHP 29,900 at Rose Pharmacy and Watsons. The lowest verified price is PHP 11,650 for the 2.5 mg KwikPen at Rose Pharmacy. Every KwikPen strength is on the [Mounjaro price page](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/mounjaro-philippines).

### Does Mercury Drug sell Ozempic?

Mercury Drug publishes no medicine prices online; its Order Online page is a phone form, so its price and stock have to be asked in store or by phone. See [Mercury Drug and semaglutide](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/faq/mercury-drug-semaglutide).

### Is a research-grade vial the same as a branded pen?

No. A branded pen is a registered medicine made and released under a regulator-approved process and dispensed by a pharmacist. A research-grade vial is not a registered medicine, has no prescriber or pharmacist behind it, and is not a substitute for a prescribed pen. What each molecule is and what its trials found is in the [semaglutide guide](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/semaglutide) and the tirzepatide guide.

### What are the side effects of GLP-1 medicines in the trials?

In the phase 3 trials the most frequently reported adverse events were gastrointestinal: nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting. The rates for each trial and arm are on the compound pages, starting with [tirzepatide](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/tirzepatide).

## Research Peptides

### What is the evidence for BPC-157, TB-500 and similar peptides?

Mostly animal and cell studies, with small human studies for a few. Each compound page states the evidence level for every finding and lists the side effects reported. Start with the [peptide library](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides). Three examples: [BPC-157 Philippines](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/bpc157) is rated small human studies in the evidence dataset, [KPV](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/kpv) is rated animal and cell, and [MOTS-c](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides/mots-c) is rated animal and cell.

### Is retatrutide approved anywhere?

No. Retatrutide is investigational and not approved by any regulator; Eli Lilly plans a US filing in Q1 2027. Its trial results and status are in the [retatrutide Philippines guide](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/retatrutide-philippines-2026).

### Does this site recommend doses?

No. Nothing on this site recommends a dose, a schedule or a protocol. Trial doses appear only inside sentences describing the trial that used them.

## Storage & Handling

### What is the difference between bacteriostatic and sterile water?

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative, which is what allows a vial stopper to be entered more than once. Sterile water has no preservative and is single-use. See [bacteriostatic water in the Philippines](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/bacteriostatic-water-philippines).

### What if a parcel arrives warm?

What heat does to lyophilised peptides, what to inspect, and when to tell the seller are covered in [peptides that arrived warm](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/peptides-arrived-warm-philippines).

## Safety

### When should someone on a GLP-1 medicine see a doctor urgently?

The branded GLP-1 product labels warn about pancreatitis and gallbladder problems. Severe persistent abdominal pain, signs of an allergic reaction such as facial swelling or difficulty breathing, or vomiting that prevents keeping fluids down need urgent medical care. This is general information, not medical advice.

### Who should not use GLP-1 medicines?

The branded labels carry a warning for people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, and they are not used in pregnancy. Whether a medicine suits someone is a decision for a licensed Philippine physician.

Primara Labs, our partner and supplier, stocks its research catalogue in Metro Manila. Research use only.
