# Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro in the Philippines for Foreigners

Philippines Peptides editorial desk Updated 12 October 2026 9 min read

**Topic**

- GLP-1 pens for visitors and expats

**Coverage**

- Registration + Rx + Price

**Prices verified**

- 23 September 2026

## The Short Version

**FDA REGISTERED**

- Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro

**FOREIGN RX**

- Ask the pharmacy first

**WEGOVY 2.4MG**

- PHP 12,650

All three pens are registered with the FDA Philippines and classified as prescription drugs. The Philippine Pharmacy Act allows a prescription medicine to be dispensed only by a registered and licensed pharmacist, and only against a valid prescription of a physician, dentist or veterinarian. Nothing in that Act, or in the Generics Act, says whether a prescription written outside the Philippines counts, and the chains that sell these pens validate every prescription through their own pharmacist before release. So: registered yes, prescription required yes, foreign prescription ask the pharmacy before you go.

If the counter says no, the route that works is a consultation with a Philippine-licensed physician, in a hospital or through a licensed telehealth service, who writes a prescription a Philippine pharmacy will fill. Prescribing belongs with that physician. This page covers market facts: what is registered, what the law says, what a pen costs.

Here on military rotation or a defence contract? Delivery near camps, paying from overseas and storage in barracks heat are covered in [peptides for military and uniformed personnel](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/peptides-for-military-personnel-philippines).

## What Is Registered Here

The FDA Philippines runs a public Verification Portal. Searching it for the generic names on 11 September 2026 returned the following certificate-of-product-registration (CPR) records. Registration numbers are quoted as displayed.

| Brand | Generic | Strengths returned | Registration numbers | Classification |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Ozempic | Semaglutide | 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg pens | BR-1326, BR-1327, BR-1328, BR-1346 | Prescription Drug (Rx) |
| Wegovy | Semaglutide | 1 mg, 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg pens (page 1 of 2) | BR-1469, BR-1471, BR-1472 | Prescription Drug (Rx) |
| Mounjaro and Mounjaro KwikPen | Tirzepatide | 2.5 mg to 15 mg, vial and KwikPen | DR-XY49501 to DR-XY49617 (ten records on page 1 of 2) | Prescription (Rx) Drug |

Both searches returned two pages of records; the numbers above are from the first page of each. Rybelsus, the oral semaglutide tablet, also appears (BR-1411 to BR-1413). Registration means the product may be sold through licensed channels in the Philippines; it says nothing about whether any given branch has it on the shelf, which is a separate problem covered in the [Mounjaro filing](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/mounjaro-philippines) and the [semaglutide stock FAQ](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/faq/mercury-drug-semaglutide).

## What the Law Requires

Republic Act 10918, the Philippine Pharmacy Act of 2016, is the statute that governs dispensing. Three provisions matter to a buyer:

- **Section 30.**Prescription drugs and pharmacist-only OTC medicines "shall be dispensed only by a duly registered and licensed pharmacist", with an exception only for emergencies where none is available.

- **Section 33.**Prescription medicines "may be dispensed only by a duly registered and licensed pharmacist and only with a valid prescription of a physician, dentist, or veterinarian."

- **Section 45(e).** Dispensing prescription products by a person other than one under the direct and immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist is penalised with a fine of two hundred fifty thousand to five hundred thousand pesos, imprisonment of one to six years, or both.

Republic Act 6675, the Generics Act, adds that prescriptions are written using the generic name, with the brand name optional (Section 6(b)). In practice the chains apply these rules at checkout. The Watsons product page for every one of these pens carries the same reminder: a doctor's prescription is required, a copy is to be emailed with the order number after checkout, and a pharmacist will get in touch to validate it before the item is released. The GLP-1 lines are click-and-collect rather than delivered.

## Foreign Prescriptions: What the Sources Do and Do Not Say

This is the question every visitor asks and the one the primary sources do not settle. Section 33 of the Pharmacy Act requires "a valid prescription of a physician, dentist, or veterinarian" and does not define what makes one valid, or say whether the prescriber must hold a Philippine licence. The Generics Act is equally silent. No FDA issuance opened for this filing addresses a prescription written abroad.

What is observable is how the pharmacies behave. Each chain validates the prescription through its own pharmacist, and that pharmacist is the person who decides whether the document in front of them meets the standard. A prescription in English, with the generic name, the strength, the prescriber's name and licence details and a date, gives that pharmacist the most to work with. Whether it is accepted is their call.

**The practical rule:**ask the pharmacy before you go, with the prescription in hand, by phone or through the chain's online pharmacy email. If the answer is no, the physician route in the next section is the answer, and it is not a long detour.

## The Legitimate Route: A Philippine-Licensed Physician

A prescription from a physician licensed in the Philippines is the document every pharmacy here recognises. Two ways to get in front of one:

- **A hospital endocrinology consultation.** The major Metro Manila hospitals book endocrinology within days, and their in-house pharmacies fill the prescription the same day when stock allows. The [Wegovy price filing](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/wegovy-price-philippines) walks through that route.

- **A licensed telehealth service.** Several Philippine operators run GLP-1 programmes with a named prescriber, a consultation and delivery. This site has compared them on what they publish and what they charge: [the four telehealth services compared](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/best-telehealth-weight-loss-philippines), and [&you vs GoRocky](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/guides/andyou-vs-gorocky) for the cost detail. Confirm with the service that it will see a non-resident patient; that is a question for the operator, not one this filing can answer.

Either way the decision to prescribe, the choice of medicine and the dose are the physician's. What this page can tell you is what the pen will cost once you have the script.

## Verified Peso Prices

Every figure below was read from the named pharmacy's own listing on 23 September 2026, and the Wegovy and Mounjaro rows were re-read unchanged on 11 September 2026. The Ozempic listing at Watsons read higher on 11 September than the verified figures below, and the notes say so; treat Ozempic as moving until the table is re-verified across chains. The dollar column uses 56 pesos to the dollar for orientation only. One pen of Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro holds four weekly doses.

| Pen | PHP | USD (approx.) | Pharmacy | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Ozempic 0.25 mg | PHP 8,187.50 | $146 | Watsons | |
| Ozempic 0.5 mg | PHP 8,187.50 | $146 | Watsons | |
| Ozempic 1 mg | PHP 9,280 | $166 | Watsons | Page also shows a 3% promotion on regular Dispensary items that the displayed price does not include. |
| Wegovy 0.25 mg | PHP 9,900 | $177 | Watsons | |
| Wegovy 0.5 mg | PHP 9,900 | $177 | Watsons | |
| Wegovy 1 mg | PHP 9,900 | $177 | Watsons | |
| Wegovy 1.7 mg | PHP 11,600 | $207 | Watsons | |
| Wegovy 2.4 mg | PHP 12,650 | $226 | Watsons | Page also shows a 3% promotion on regular Dispensary items that the displayed price does not include. |
| Mounjaro 2.5 mg | PHP 11,650 | $208 | Watsons | |
| Mounjaro 5 mg | PHP 13,550 | $242 | Watsons | Page also shows a 3% promotion on regular Dispensary items that the displayed price does not include. |
| Mounjaro 7.5 mg | PHP 20,350 | $363 | Watsons | |
| Mounjaro 10 mg | PHP 22,950 | $410 | Watsons | |
| Mounjaro 12.5 mg | PHP 29,900 | $534 | Watsons | |
| Mounjaro 15 mg | PHP 29,900 | $534 | Watsons | |

Pharmacy pricing changes without notice and varies by branch; confirm at the counter on the day. The full class, route by route, is in the [GLP-1 price tracker](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/prices). Hospital pharmacies do not publish pen prices, so none are quoted here.

## FAQ

### Can a foreigner buy Ozempic in the Philippines?

Only the way anyone else can: with a valid prescription, dispensed by a licensed pharmacist. Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro are all registered with the FDA Philippines as prescription drugs, and the Philippine Pharmacy Act says prescription medicines may be dispensed only by a registered pharmacist and only with a valid prescription of a physician, dentist or veterinarian. Nationality is not part of that rule. The prescription is.

### Will a Philippine pharmacy accept my prescription from home?

Neither the Pharmacy Act nor the Generics Act says whether a prescription written abroad counts as valid, and no FDA issuance opened for this filing settles it. The chains that sell these pens online validate each prescription through their own pharmacist before release. So the honest answer is: ask the pharmacy before you go, with the document in hand, and be ready to see a Philippine-licensed physician if the counter says no.

### Are Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro FDA registered in the Philippines?

Yes. On 11 September 2026 the FDA Philippines Verification Portal returned certificate-of-product-registration records for Ozempic (0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg pens), Wegovy (1 mg, 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg pens on the first page of results) and Mounjaro in vial and KwikPen form from 2.5 mg to 15 mg, every one classified as a prescription drug.

### How much does Wegovy cost in the Philippines?

0.25 mg PHP 9,900, 0.5 mg PHP 9,900, 1 mg PHP 9,900, 1.7 mg PHP 11,600, 2.4 mg PHP 12,650 at Watsons Philippines, checked 23 September 2026. Roughly $177 to $226 at 56 pesos to the dollar, which is the rate this site uses for orientation only.

### How much does Mounjaro cost in the Philippines?

2.5 mg PHP 11,650, 5 mg PHP 13,550, 7.5 mg PHP 20,350, 10 mg PHP 22,950, 12.5 mg PHP 29,900, 15 mg PHP 29,900 at Watsons Philippines, checked 23 September 2026. The Philippine product information says each KwikPen delivers four doses.

### Do I need to see a doctor in the Philippines first?

If the pharmacy will not accept the prescription you have, yes. A consultation with a Philippine-licensed physician, at a hospital endocrinology department or through one of the licensed telehealth services this site has compared, produces a prescription a Philippine pharmacy will fill. Whether any of these medicines is appropriate for you, and at what dose, is that physician’s decision, not this page’s.

### Can I get these pens without a prescription?

Not legitimately, and this page will not tell you how. Dispensing prescription products outside a licensed pharmacist’s supervision is an offence under the Pharmacy Act, and the sellers who offer pens without a script are the documented counterfeit channel. See the counterfeit filing linked below.
