Kisspeptin is not yet in the evidence datasets this site draws on, so this page makes no claim about what it does.

## What is Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin (also called metastin) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide encoded by the KISS1 gene. According to a 2012 review of kisspeptin physiology (Pinilla et al., Physiol Rev), it acts on the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R, also called GPR54) to drive release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which in turn drives release of LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) from the pituitary. Browse the full [peptide library](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/peptides) for related hormone compounds.

Kisspeptin is not in the evidence datasets this site draws on. The human studies cited on this page measured hormone and brain responses in healthy volunteers: kisspeptin-54 stimulated the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in men (Dhillo et al., 2005), a single injection of kisspeptin-54 temporarily increased LH pulsatility in healthy women (Jayasena et al., 2013), and kisspeptin modulated sexual and emotional brain processing in a human study (Comninos et al., 2017).

## How it works

KISS1R activation: according to the 2012 Pinilla review, kisspeptin binds KISS1R on GnRH neurons in the hypothalamus and triggers GnRH secretion.

Pituitary hormones: GnRH reaches the anterior pituitary and stimulates LH and FSH release, which act on the testes and ovaries, as set out in the same review. In a human study in men, kisspeptin-54 stimulated this hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis (Dhillo et al., 2005).

## Kisspeptin in the Philippines

A search of the FDA Philippines registered drug products database on 7 May 2026, listed in the sources below, found no Philippine drug registration for kisspeptin. The regulatory dataset this site draws on has no row for kisspeptin, so this page has no later check to report.

## Benefits studied

Kisspeptin is not yet in the evidence datasets this site draws on, so this page makes no claim about what it does. Anything published about it elsewhere should be read with its evidence level in mind: most peptides in this category have animal or cell data only.

## Side effects reported

No controlled human data on adverse events for Kisspeptin is in the datasets this site draws on, so its safety in people is unknown rather than established. Effects commonly described for it are listed below; how often they occur has not been measured in a controlled trial.

- Testicular ache

- Increased libido

- Nausea

- Injection site reactions

- Hormone fluctuations

- Headache

- Reduced response with continuous exposure (theoretical)

## Regulatory status

The regulatory dataset this site draws on has no row for Kisspeptin.

## Who should not use Kisspeptin

Do not use if

- Hormone-sensitive cancers (prostate, ovarian, breast)

- Active reproductive hormone disorders

- Pregnancy

- Under 18 years old

- Currently trying to conceive

## FAQ

### What evidence exists for kisspeptin?

Kisspeptin is not in the evidence datasets this site draws on. The sources on this page are three human studies and one review: a 2005 study of kisspeptin-54 in men, a 2013 study of a single kisspeptin-54 injection in healthy women, a 2017 study of brain processing, and a 2012 review of kisspeptin physiology. They measured hormone and brain responses, not treatment outcomes.

### What did the kisspeptin study in men find?

In a 2005 human study by Dhillo and colleagues, kisspeptin-54 stimulated the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in men.

### Has kisspeptin been studied in women?

Yes, in a small number of human studies. In a 2013 study by Jayasena and colleagues, a single injection of kisspeptin-54 temporarily increased LH pulsatility in healthy women.

### Sourcing peptides in the Philippines

Primara Labs, our partner and supplier, ships from inventory already inside the Philippines, so there is no customs leg: vials are batch-numbered, Metro Manila orders dispatch same day, the rest of the country lands in 1 to 5 business days, and the store lists 10% off every order. The current list sits on one page, and anything you cannot see on it goes through the same WhatsApp thread.

The supply index covers what to ask a seller before paying, and why quoted prices vary so widely.
