Searching for retatrutide in the Philippines? Here is the short answer, checked September 2026. Retatrutide is an investigational peptide from Eli Lilly that activates three hormone receptors: GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. It is not registered with FDA Philippines, and no regulator anywhere has approved it. No pharmacy here sells it, and no pharmaceutical version exists, so pharmacy grade claims are mislabelled. In TRIUMPH-1, a phase 3 trial of 2,339 adults without diabetes, body weight fell 28.3% at 80 weeks on the highest-dose arm, against 2.2% on placebo. The most common side effects were nausea, diarrhoea and constipation. Nausea was reported in 28.6% to 42.4% of participants. 11.3% on the highest-dose arm stopped because of side effects, against 4.9% on placebo. Dysesthesia, a change in skin sensation, appeared in every phase 3 trial. What is sold here is research material: not approved for human use, and sold for research only. Our partner and supplier, Primara Labs, lists a retatrutide vial at [₱3,390 for the 20 mg vial], or [₱2,076] each in a 10 pack. That is about [₱170] per mg, or [₱104] in a 10 pack. Retatrutide batch RETA-4728-A was tested by Janoshik for bacterial endotoxin. Batch reports are published at primaralabs.com/coa as they are issued. Every vial order includes bacteriostatic water, insulin syringes and alcohol pads. Metro Manila orders before noon arrive the same day, provinces ship by J&T, and there is a 60-day money-back guarantee. ## What is Retatrutide

Retatrutide (LY3437943) is an investigational peptide from Eli Lilly that activates three hormone receptors: GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. Its receptor pharmacology and first human data were published in 2022 ([Coskun et al., Cell Metabolism 2022](https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cmet.2022.07.013)).

In TRIUMPH-1, a phase 3 trial of 2,339 adults with obesity or overweight without diabetes, body weight fell by 28.3% at 80 weeks on the highest-dose arm, against 2.2% on placebo. Every completed trial is set out below, next to the side effects each reported.

It is not approved anywhere. Sponsor plans a US Biologics License Application submission in Q1 2027, according to Lilly's release of 23 July 2026. Its status by regulator is on the [regulatory status page](https://www.philippinespeptides.com/legal/status).

## How it works

GLP-1 receptor: the same target as semaglutide. GLP-1 receptor activation slows stomach emptying, increases insulin release when blood sugar is high and reduces appetite.

GIP receptor: the second target tirzepatide shares. GIP also acts on insulin release; how much it adds to weight loss in people is still studied.

Glucagon receptor: the target that distinguishes retatrutide. In the preclinical and early clinical work reported in the discovery paper, adding glucagon receptor activity increased energy expenditure ([Coskun et al., 2022](https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cmet.2022.07.013)). Energy expenditure has not been an endpoint in any TRIUMPH readout, so its contribution in people is not measured.

Lilly described the TRIUMPH-4 events as generally mild and said they rarely led to discontinuation ([Lilly, 11 December 2025](https://investor.lilly.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lillys-triple-agonist-retatrutide-delivered-weight-loss-average)), and described the TRIUMPH-1 events as generally mild to moderate, with most resolving during continued treatment ([Lilly, 21 May 2026](https://investor.lilly.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lillys-triple-agonist-retatrutide-delivered-powerful-weight-loss)). The rate did not rise with every dose step in every trial: in TRIUMPH-3 it was the same on both arms. The mechanism has not been established.

## Heart rate

In the phase 2 trial of 338 adults with obesity over 48 weeks, heart rate rose with dose, peaked at about 24 weeks and declined afterwards ([Jastreboff, NEJM 2023](https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2301972)). None of Lilly's TRIUMPH releases reported heart rate.

A 2026 network meta-analysis of 12 randomised trials with 15,313 adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes estimated a mean heart-rate increase against control of 3.46 beats per minute for retatrutide (1.74 to 5.18), against 3.35 for semaglutide and 2.05 for tirzepatide ([Eur J Med Res 2026](https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s40001-026-03933-9)). TRIUMPH-OUTCOMES, a phase 3 trial of cardiovascular and kidney outcomes, is still running.

## Hair loss

Lilly's TRIUMPH-1 release, covering 2,339 participants over 80 weeks, did not list hair loss among its reported adverse events ([Lilly, 21 May 2026](https://investor.lilly.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lillys-triple-agonist-retatrutide-delivered-powerful-weight-loss)).

In the same drug class, a 2026 systematic review found alopecia reported in 7% of tirzepatide participants against 1.4% on placebo in one SURMOUNT report, and concluded that rapid weight loss, rather than direct drug toxicity, is the likely driver, through telogen effluvium, a temporary shedding that follows a physical stress ([Gupta et al., Science Progress 2026](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13100445/)). That review covers tirzepatide and semaglutide, not retatrutide.

## Half-life and liver fat

In a phase 1b trial in people with type 2 diabetes, retatrutide's half-life was approximately six days ([Urva et al., Lancet 2022](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0140673622020335)). That is the reason the trials give it once a week. The phase 2 publication and the phase 3 releases do not restate the figure.

A phase 2a trial in adults with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) reported large reductions in liver fat ([Sanyal et al., Nature Medicine 2024](https://doi.org/10.1038/s41591-024-03018-2)). Liver fat has not been a reported endpoint of the phase 3 TRIUMPH readouts.

## FAQ

### What is retatrutide?

Retatrutide is an investigational peptide from Eli Lilly that activates the GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors. It is being studied for obesity and type 2 diabetes in the phase 3 TRIUMPH programme and is not approved anywhere.

### What did the TRIUMPH trials find?

In TRIUMPH-1, a phase 3 trial of 2,339 adults with obesity or overweight without diabetes, body weight fell by 28.3% at 80 weeks on the highest-dose arm, against 2.2% on placebo. 5 completed trials with reported results are listed on this page, each with its population and duration.

### What are the most common side effects of retatrutide in the trials?

In TRIUMPH-1 the most frequently reported adverse events were nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting and urinary tract infection. 4.1%, 6.9% and 11.3% of participants on the 4 mg, 9 mg and 12 mg arms stopped treatment because of adverse events, against 4.9% on placebo. Dysesthesia, a change in skin sensation, was reported in every phase 3 trial.

### What is retatrutide dysesthesia?

Dysesthesia is an altered or unpleasant skin sensation, such as tingling or burning. It was reported in all four TRIUMPH readouts and was not reported as a distinct event in the phase 2 trial. Lilly described the events as generally mild. The rate for each trial and arm is on this page.

### Does retatrutide raise heart rate?

In the phase 2 trial, heart rate rose with dose, peaked at about 24 weeks and declined afterwards. A 2026 network meta-analysis estimated a mean increase of 3.46 beats per minute against control for retatrutide, against 3.35 for semaglutide and 2.05 for tirzepatide. The TRIUMPH releases did not report heart rate.

### Does retatrutide cause hair loss?

Lilly’s TRIUMPH-1 release did not list hair loss among its reported adverse events. In the same drug class, a 2026 systematic review linked alopecia to rapid weight loss through telogen effluvium rather than to the drugs directly; that review did not cover retatrutide.

### What is the half-life of retatrutide?

Approximately six days, measured in a phase 1b trial in people with type 2 diabetes (Urva et al., Lancet 2022). That is why the trials give it once a week.

### Is retatrutide registered in the Philippines?

No. A search of the FDA Philippines verification portal on 23 September 2026 returned no registered retatrutide product, and no regulator anywhere has approved it. This is general information, not legal advice.
