02. How do I tie the vial in my hand to that specific certificate?
This is the check most buyers skip and the one that carries the weight. A published certificate proves a document exists describing a batch. It does not connect that document to your vial. The strongest answer is a lot code printed on the vial that matches the published certificate, so you can verify without asking anyone. A weaker but workable answer is a vendor who will confirm your batch against an order number. No answer at all is the one to walk away from.
03. What is the shipping route, and is the window tracked?
Ask where it ships from rather than where the company is registered. Those are different facts and vendors in this category routinely let the second imply the first. A stated origin, a stated window and a tracking number is the standard. A vague answer about dispatch is usually concealing an international leg.
04. Which payment methods leave a record?
Cards and bank transfers create a paper trail and, with cards, a dispute path. Crypto creates neither. A vendor offering both is fine and normal. A vendor who will only take crypto has removed your recourse before you have bought anything, and that is a decision about you rather than about payment convenience.
05. What exactly does the guarantee cover, in writing?
Scope matters more than duration. A guarantee against material not matching its certificate is meaningful and enforceable. A guarantee of a research or personal outcome is not something any vendor of research material can honour, and offering one is a signal about how the vendor talks rather than a benefit. Read the boundary, not the number of days.
What Failure Looks Like
The failing pattern is consistent enough to describe without naming anyone. A seller operating only through a messaging app, with no site that stays up. Vials with no lot code and no certificate to match one to. A certificate offered as an image that cannot be tied to any particular batch, or one that names no laboratory at all. Crypto as the only payment rail. And a guarantee that either does not exist or promises an outcome, which amounts to the same thing.
None of those is exotic. All of them are ordinary in this category, which is why the five questions above are worth asking every time rather than only when something feels wrong.
