What NAD+ actually is
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. A coenzyme found in every cell. Your cells use NAD+ to convert food into ATP and to repair damaged DNA. Without NAD+, mitochondria can't function and cells can't survive.
NAD+ levels decline with age — by 50, levels may be half what they were at 20. Decline is associated with reduced energy, slower recovery, cognitive decline, and accelerated cellular aging. Restoring NAD+ may slow or reverse some of these effects. Animal data is strong; human data is growing but limited. Be skeptical of clinics framing NAD+ as a miracle drug.
The three forms — and which actually work
Why the Philippines is a good place for NAD+
NAD+ IV drips at international hospitals in the US or Europe cost USD 500 – 1,000 per session. In the Philippines, the same treatment at Manila Doctors Hospital or Makati Medical Center costs USD 150 – 350. Same pharmaceutical-grade NAD+, same slow drip protocols.
Subcutaneous NAD+ from regional research suppliers is also significantly cheaper than Western sources. A vial that runs USD 150 – 200 from a US peptide company might cost USD 50 – 80 from a verified Asian supplier with the same purity and COA.
NAD+ IV drips in Manila
| Venue type | Price range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| International hospitals (Makati Med, Manila Doctors) | USD 150 – 350 | Highest quality, full medical supervision |
| Wellness clinics (Salcedo, BGC) | USD 100 – 300 | Quality varies — check COA and reviews |
| US / Europe equivalent | USD 500 – 1,000 | For comparison |
A typical NAD+ IV session takes 1 – 3 hours. You cannot rush it — high dose pushed quickly causes flushing, chest tightness, anxiety, and nausea. The slow drip is the protocol.
Most longevity protocols: 5 – 10 sessions over a few weeks as a loading phase, then monthly maintenance. See /supply for vetted clinic recommendations.
Subcutaneous NAD+ injections — the biohacker protocol
Many serious biohackers skip clinics and use subcutaneous NAD+ at home. Same logic as BPC-157 or TB-500. Source lyophilized NAD+, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, inject subcutaneously in abdomen or thigh.
| Phase | Typical dose | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Loading | 100 – 200mg | 3 – 5x weekly · 2 – 4 weeks |
| Maintenance | 50 – 100mg | 1 – 3x weekly |
Side effects
IV. Pushed too fast: flushing, anxiety, chest tightness, nausea. Slow drips solve this.
Subcutaneous. Stings at injection site more than other peptides due to molecular size. Diluting properly and injecting slowly helps.
Who NAD+ is actually for
Mid-30s and older with energy / recovery / sleep issues, biohackers running longevity stacks, post-illness recovery, or anyone interested in cellular health protocols. Not a magic bullet. A tool in a larger toolkit. See the NAD+ reference page for full mechanism and dosing.
