PHFAQMERCURY DRUG · SEMAGLUTIDE

Does Mercury Drug Sell Semaglutide / Ozempic in the PH?

Yes — but only at the flagship branches, only on a Monday/Thursday refill cadence, and only with a valid PH prescription. This filing maps which branches are reliable, what the pricing actually looks like in pesos and USD, and what to do when the counter is empty.
§ 01

Short Answer

Yes, Mercury Drug carries Ozempic and Wegovy. Not at every branch — only at the flagships. Salcedo Village, Glorietta, SM Aura, Market! Market!, and Bonifacio Stopover are the most reliable. Refill cadence is Monday/Thursday with restocks landing 9–11am. Prescription required; no walk-in cash purchase without a physician's script.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) availability is more inconsistent — roughly 4 weeks out of every 8 in our weekly stock check log. Ozempic 0.5mg is the most reliable SKU; Wegovy 1.0mg ships about 75% of weeks; Wegovy 2.4mg flagship doses are scarce.

Smaller neighborhood Mercury Drug branches in Pasig, Pinagsama, Mandaluyong, Quezon City suburbs, and outside Metro Manila almost never carry GLP-1s. Don't waste a trip — call ahead or default to one of the flagships above.

Refill Cadence (Stock Pattern)

The pattern across all flagship branches in our 8-week stock check log (January 19 to March 9, 2026):

  • Monday morning, 9–11am — primary restock window. Best time to buy.
  • Thursday morning, 9–11am — secondary restock. Slightly lower volume.
  • Friday afternoon onward — counters thin out fast. Ozempic 0.5mg often gone by Saturday.
  • Sunday and Monday before 9am — most likely empty across the network.

Pharmacists at the flagship branches will add you to a callback list if you ask. About 60% of those callbacks actually get made when the next shipment arrives.

§ 04

Prescription Rules

Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro are FDA Philippines-registered prescription-only medications. Mercury Drug will not dispense without a valid PH-issued physician's script. Foreign prescriptions (US, EU, AU) are not accepted at the counter.

The cleanest path: book an endocrinology consult at St. Luke's Medical Center BGC, Makati Medical Center, The Medical City Ortigas, or Manila Doctors Hospital. Consult fee runs PHP 2,000–4,500 (USD 36–80). The endo writes a 90-day script with refill notes; you fill it at any flagship Mercury Drug.

Telehealth platforms (KonsultaMD, Maria Health, etc.) can issue Ozempic prescriptions, but Mercury Drug branches inconsistently accept telehealth scripts versus in-person hospital scripts. Default to in-person for the first prescription.

My Experience

January 19 to March 9, 2026 — 8-week stock check log. I walked the GLP-1 counter at Mercury Drug SM Aura every Monday morning for 8 straight weeks. Ozempic 0.5mg in stock all 8 weeks. Wegovy 1.0mg in stock 6/8 (out February 2 and March 2 — both restocked Thursday morning). Mounjaro 10mg in stock 4/8.

January 17, 2026 — first refill, Salcedo Village.First Ozempic refill on a 90-day St. Luke's BGC prescription. Walked into Mercury Drug Salcedo at 10:15am Monday, asked the pharmacist for the next pen on my script. Counter check, signature on the controlled-substance log, total time 14 minutes. Paid PHP 14,200 (USD 254) cash; they accept cards but the line moved faster cash.

February 11, 2026 — empty counter at Glorietta. Walked in Thursday at 4pm hoping for the morning restock leftovers. Ozempic 0.5mg gone. Pharmacist offered to mark me on the callback list; he actually called Friday morning when the next shipment landed. Drove down at 11am Friday, got the pen.

March 7, 2026 — Mounjaro miss. Tried Mounjaro 5mg at SM Aura on a Sunday afternoon. Empty. Tried Glorietta same day. Empty. Tried Salcedo Monday at 9:30am. Restocked but only 10mg available, not 5mg. Switched the prescription to 10mg with my endo over messenger that afternoon.

§ 07

When the Counter Is Empty

The four-step playbook when your flagship is out of stock:

  1. Cross-check a sister flagship. Salcedo and Glorietta are 12 minutes apart. SM Aura and Market! Market! are 8 minutes apart. Different inventory pools.
  2. Ask for the callback list. Flagship pharmacists keep one; about 60% of callbacks actually happen.
  3. Try Watsons in the same mall. Carries GLP-1s less consistently but occasionally has stock when Mercury Drug doesn't.
  4. Wait until Monday/Thursday morning. Don't waste a Saturday or Sunday trip — the cadence is real.

For research-grade alternatives that bypass the prescription/stock dance entirely, see our PH supplier guide. Same molecules, no stockouts, no callback list.
